Liverpool have agreed a £40million deal with Arsenal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. BBC’s David Ornstein revealed this on Twitter on Wednesday evening. He tweeted: “Liverpool have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for £40m #AFC #LFC “Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign 6yr deal with #LFC & becomes Arsenal’s all-time record departure fee. Unlikely that #AFC will sign a replacement.” Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has opened the way for Liverpool to bid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, by telling the player he is no longer wanted at the Emirates Stadium. Oxlade-Chamberlain has informed the Gunners that he does not want to move to Chelsea despite the clubs agreeing a £35million deal on Monday. The England winger wants a switch to Anfield, where he believes Jürgen Klopp, will field him in his preferred central midfield position.
