  Arsene Wenger might be hoping to lure German forward, Draxler to Arsenal as a possible replacement for want-away striker, Sanchez. Barcelona have opened deadline-day talks with Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, according to AS and the Algerian is reported to have travelled to the Catalan capital. The Blaugrana are still hopeful of signing Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, but they have now identified Mahrez as an alternative. The Algeria international is likely to cost around €50 million after Roma had a series of bids rejected for the Foxes star.   Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has signed for the club. Carragher wrote on his Twitter page: “Tried to persuade AOC to join @LFC when he was a kid, obviously Klopp is more persuasive! Interested how he gets him into CM after Sunday!!” Oxlade-Chamberlain underwent a medical with Liverpool on Wednesday evening, after both clubs agreed a fee of £40million , according to Sky sources. The 24-year-old is set to join Liverpool on a five-year deal after the two clubs struck a deal. The player turned down a new improved deal at Arsenal earlier this month which would have seen him earn £180,000 a week. He will earn a minimum of £120,000 a week at Anfield, a figure which could increase with win bonuses and loyalty payments. The Gunners agreed a deal with Chelsea for Oxlade-Chamberlain earlier this week, but the midfielder rejected the chance to join the Blues in favour of a move to Anfield.

Ronaldo is currently serving a domestic suspension for pushing referee Ricardo Burgos, after being sent off during Real Madrid’s first leg encounter against Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana. Silva said, “He manages to shut many mouths that speak badly of him.” The 21-year-old added, “We all have the certainty that he will do a good job. “Football is not a bed of roses.
